IGNITE

About

AIC-SKU Successfully Conducts IGNITE EDP for PwDs & LGBTQ+ Communities Atal Incubation Centre – Sri Krishnadevaraya University (AIC-SKU) successfully organized a 5-day Entrepreneurship Development Program (IGNITE) exclusively for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and LGBTQ+ communities under the AP MSME – RAMP Program, in collaboration with Gurthimpu Foundation, Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (implemented by Canara Bank), Ekathva Foundation, and Rural Development Trust. The program was preceded by an extensive 1.5-month outreach campaign across rural areas of Anantapur district, which received an overwhelming response with 300+ enquiry calls and around 100 applications. After a structured selection process, 51 participants (32 residential and 19 non-residential) attended the intensive training. The program focused on building entrepreneurial skills through sessions on mindset development, opportunity identification, business planning, financial awareness, and idea pitching. Most of the ideas presented by participants were inspired by their own life experiences, reflecting real-world challenges and innovative solutions. AIC-SKU will further provide four months of handholding support to help participants transform their ideas into sustainable startups. This initiative highlights the power of collaboration among incubators, NGOs, financial institutions, and development organizations in creating meaningful and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems.
