Srujana Shibir -Ideal Degree College of Arts & Science, Kakinada
About
Two recent engagements underscored how collaboration and institutional intent are key to strengthening the startup ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. At the AP Incubators’ CEOs, CXOs & Ecosystem Leaders Meeting hosted at KL University, over 15 incubation institutions came together to openly discuss real on-ground challenges—ranging from governance and founder readiness to investor access and sustainability—and collectively explore solutions, signaling a shift from silos to collaboration. In parallel, a visit to Ideal Degree College of Arts & Science, Kakinada, as part of AIC-SKU’s Academic Partnership Model, highlighted how leadership vision and diversity of ideas can drive innovation beyond infrastructure alone. The institution’s initiative to host an Innovation Expo alongside student interactions showcased facilities, student innovations, and untapped potential in a refreshing and impactful manner. Leveraging Kakinada’s coastal advantage, AIC-SKU is supporting the college in channelizing regional strengths toward marine, sustainability, logistics, and blue economy innovations. Together, these experiences reaffirm that when institutions cultivate the right culture, intent, and partnerships, meaningful innovation follows—regardless of location.
